Transport Office Manager
Location: Co. Carlow
Salary: €45,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Our client is a well-established and growing transport and logistics company specialising in time-critical transport services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy office and support the coordination of transport activities across Ireland, the UK, and international markets.
This is a hands-on role that will suit someone with previous transport, logistics, planning, or operations experience who can confidently manage multiple priorities, support a small team, and ensure the smooth running of a fast-paced transport office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the transport office.
- Lead, support, and develop a small office team.
- Coordinate transport bookings, schedules, and operational administration.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, drivers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate processing of transport documentation and records.
- Liaise with operational teams to resolve scheduling issues and service-related queries.
- Monitor workloads and ensure administrative tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Support management with reporting, office administration, and process improvements.
- Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times.
- Monitor office performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Handle multiple priorities while remaining calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Transport Office Manager, Transport Coordinator, Logistics Coordinator, Office Manager, Operations Coordinator, or similar role.
- Strong background in transport, logistics, fleet operations, or a fast-paced service environment.
- Experience supervising, supporting, or coordinating a team.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience within the equine, bloodstock, racing, agricultural, or transport sectors would be advantageous.
- Full driving licence preferred.
