Senior Accountant

Location: Dublin 12
Salary: 60,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Our client, a well-established and growing organisation based in Dublin 12, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded accounting professional with strong technical expertise and leadership capability to play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

The Role

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and providing high-quality financial insight to support business performance. The role offers exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in budgeting, forecasting, and group-level reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple business units
  • Preparation of quarterly financial accounts to tight deadlines
  • Analysis and reporting of variances against budget and forecast
  • Preparation and distribution of KPIs to senior management
  • Management and reporting of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Oversight of weekly and monthly payroll processes
  • Ensuring full Revenue compliance
  • Assisting with VAT, corporation tax, and other statutory filings
  • Managing and liaising with external auditors during the annual audit
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Management and reporting of key balance sheet items
  • Contribution to group reporting and financial consolidation
  • Identifying opportunities for cost control and profitability improvements

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong and practical knowledge of management accounting principles
  • Commercial awareness with a solid understanding of business operations
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
  • High level of proficiency with financial systems and software
  • Advanced Excel skills essential
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the business
  • Collaborative team player with a professional and discreet approach

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Minimum 10 yearsexperience in a senior or similar accounting role
  • Experience in multi-entity or multi-site environments highly desirable
