Air & Sea Freight Executive

Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 5:30pm
Full-Time Permanent Role
On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Air & Sea Freight Executive to join a busy and growing logistics operation based in Carrigtwohill, Cork.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating both import and export air and sea freight shipments while ensuring excellent customer service, operational efficiency and customs compliance.
Export Duties Include:
- Managing customer bookings and coordinating exports to global destinations
- Checking freight rates and confirming bookings with shipping partners
- Organising transport for air and sea freight shipments
- Creating quotations and shipment bookings on internal systems
- Sending booking confirmations and shipment updates to customers
- Arranging export customs documentation including SAD declarations
- Issuing shipping documentation including MBL/HBL and AWB/HAWB
- Tracking shipments and sending pre-alerts to destination agents
- Coordinating invoicing and resolving account queries efficiently
- Maintaining strong communication with customers throughout the shipment process
Import Duties Include:
- Coordinating FCL, LCL and air freight imports into Ireland
- Managing customs clearance requirements and import documentation
- Calculating duties and VAT costs and communicating these to customers
- Creating import bookings and shipment records on internal systems
- Coordinating haulage and final delivery arrangements
- Monitoring carrier free-time periods to avoid additional charges
- Finalising invoicing and supporting billing processes
- Resolving customer and account queries promptly and professionally
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years‘ experience within Air or Sea Freight Operations
- Strong knowledge of import/export processes and freight documentation
- Experience working within fast-paced logistics or supply chain environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
