Retail Supervisor

Galway | €40,000 – €45,000 DOE | Permanent | Full-Time

Flexistaff Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Retail Supervisor to join a well-established business based in Galway.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Retail Supervisor, or a strong retail professional ready to take the next step in their career. Candidates coming from hardware, DIY, builders’ merchants, agricultural/farm stores, trade counters or similar environments would be particularly well suited.

The role is hands-on and customer-facing, combining retail sales, customer service, merchandising and team leadership. You’ll work closely with customers, support and train the retail team, build relationships with new and existing customers and help identify opportunities to grow sales.

The Package

• Salary: €40,000 – €45,000 depending on experience
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
• Occasional Saturdays: 8:30am – 2:00pm
• Permanent, full-time position
• Location: Tuam Road, Galway
• Closed on bank holidays
• Additional closure days around the Christmas period
• Company pension scheme from joining

• Small shop team of approximately 2-3 people

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering excellent customer service and building strong customer relationships
• Identifying customer needs and maximising sales opportunities
• Supporting sales, marketing and brand development activities
• Merchandising the shop floor to maximise sales
• Handling customer queries and resolving issues effectively
• Leading and training Retail Store Assistants
• Supporting in-store promotions and sales initiatives
• Developing relationships with supplier representatives
• Confidently discussing products and their technical benefits with customers
• Keeping up to date with relevant market trends, products and innovations
• Working closely with other areas of the business when required

What We’re Looking For

• Previous retail or supervisory experience would be an advantage
• Strong customer service and people skills
• A hands-on, proactive approach
• Good leadership and people management skills
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify sales opportunities
• Strong communication, organisation and administration skills
• Comfortable using computer systems and learning new systems
• Ability to work well in a busy, customer-facing environment
• Good attention to detail and initiative
• A technical or marketing background would be an advantage
