Restaurant Manager
Location: The Burren, Co. Clare
Salary: €40,000 – €44,000 DOE
Subsidised Accommodation: (95 per week)
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Manager to lead restaurant and wine service operations at a prestigious country house hotel in The Burren. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for exceptional food, wine, and guest service.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring outstanding guest experiences.
- Lead, train, motivate, and develop the front-of-house team.
- Maintain high service standards, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and wider management team.
- Manage reservations, table allocations, and guest relations.
- Prepare staff rosters and manage labour requirements.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and licensing regulations.
- Support budgeting, cost control, stock management, and financial performance.
- Handle guest feedback professionally and resolve service issues effectively.
Wine Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the restaurant’s wine programme.
- Advise guests on wine selections and food pairings.
- Train staff in wine knowledge, service standards, and upselling techniques.
- Manage wine inventory, ordering, stock control, and supplier relationships.
- Organise wine tastings and staff training sessions.
- Ensure excellent wine storage, presentation, and service standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Restaurant Manager or senior supervisor in a quality hospitality setting.
- Strong wine knowledge, including wine service, cellar management, and food pairing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Financial awareness and experience managing costs and budgets.
- Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Desirable
- WSET Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent).
- Experience in luxury hotels, fine dining, or Michelin-recognised establishments.
- Knowledge of Irish and international wine regions.
- Experience with restaurant reservation and POS systems.
