Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Tullamore. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous purchasing or administrative experience who is looking to grow within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day procurement operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services, and supporting the purchasing department in delivering high service levels to the wider business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Purchasing Manager with daily procurement tasks
- Create and process purchase orders
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, and availability
- Monitor stock levels and assist in forecasting demand
- Follow up on orders and delivery schedules
- Handle returns and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records
- Assist with invoice matching and resolving any issues with suppliers
- Provide support with procurement reporting and data entry
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a purchasing, procurement, or admin support role
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus
- Team player with a proactive attitude
