Job Opportunity: Production Planner
Location: Rathmooney, Lusk, Co. Dublin

Reports To: Production Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our planning team. This role is crucial in developing and implementing weekly and daily production schedules for ready meals and intermediates, ensuring optimal production flow and efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with production teams, drive continuous process improvements, and resolve any production issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Plan Issuance:
- Develop and issue daily production plans based on the approved weekly schedule.
- Ensure timely release of the daily plan to the production team for smooth operations.
- Maximize Productivity:
- Design daily plans to maximize production efficiency and minimize unnecessary changeovers.
- Optimize workflows and reduce downtime.
- Ingredient Planning:
- Ensure accurate planning of ingredient quantities needed for daily production.
- Account for additional cooked ingredients for future production runs.
- Provide Additional Information:
- Highlight any pertinent information for other teams, such as use-by dates of ingredients, special trials, or product launches.
- Identify and Communicate Issues:
- Proactively identify issues related to the daily plan and communicate them to supervisors and managers.
- Address stock discrepancies and additional workforce needs if the plan exceeds standard working hours.
- Collaboration with Purchasing Team:
- Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure availability of necessary ingredients and packaging materials.
- Address any product redesigns or short shelf-life ingredients that could impact production.
- Daily Meetings:
- Attend daily meetings with supervisors to address and resolve any issues related to the daily plan.
- Ensure open communication and quick resolutions for arising issues.
- Follow-Up on Emails:
- Manage and respond to emails related to planning issues or extra orders promptly.
- Master Copy of Daily Plan:
- Maintain the master copy of daily plan sheets, ensuring the most up-to-date version is in use.
- Support Weekly Planner:
- Collaborate with the weekly planner to improve and refine the daily planning process for continuous improvement and efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a production planner.
- Strong knowledge of production planning processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication abilities and teamwork orientation.
Additional Information
- Working Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Saturday on rotation – half-day with time off in lieu), including bank holidays.
