Flexistaff Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Land Freight Team Supervisor based in Ballyboughal, Co. Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated logistics professional to join a fast-paced transport and freight operation, overseeing daily road freight activities while leading a dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and customer-focused movement of domestic and international freight.

The Role

As Land Freight Team Supervisor, you will manage and support the day-to-day operations of the Road Freight and Domestic Department. You will be responsible for maintaining high service standards, driving operational efficiency, supporting customers, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of domestic and international road freight shipments.
• Ensure all shipments are managed in line with company procedures and customer service agreements.
• Act as the escalation point for customer queries, transport delays, service issues, and complaints.
• Work closely with the Customs Department on import and export matters.
• Develop and improve workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate duplication.
• Provide day-to-day operational support to the road freight team.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout Ireland and the UK.
• Liaise with transport planners and carriers to ensure service requirements are consistently met.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customer queries.
• Work collaboratively with internal departments, depots, and external partners to improve communication and service delivery.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, and motivate a busy road freight operations team.
• Allocate workloads and monitor performance.
• Deliver regular feedback and performance support.
• Assist with training, development, and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive and high-performance team culture.

Performance & Reporting

• Generate and distribute customer KPI reports.
• Monitor operational performance including delivery performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Analyse trends and identify areas for improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
• Support team development through coaching and performance management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within Road Freight, Transport, or Logistics Operations.
• At least 1 year’s experience in a Supervisory or Team Lead role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Knowledge of customs import and export processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Transport Management Systems.
• Must have a vehicle to reach location.
