About the Role

Flexistaff Recruitment is seeking an experienced FMCG Buyer to join our client, a leading Irish retailer specializing in DIY and homeware. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in FMCG buying who has a sharp eye for market trends and a deep understanding of consumer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Purchasing: Develop and implement purchasing strategies that drive a profitable and competitive product range.
• Supplier Negotiation: Secure the best prices, quality, and delivery terms through effective supplier negotiations.
• Market and Competitor Analysis: Stay ahead by analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to make informed buying decisions.
• Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels to meet demand without overstocking.
• Promotional Planning: Work with the merchandising team to coordinate and execute promotional activities.
• Supplier Relations: Monitor and manage supplier performance, building strong relationships for consistent supply and quality.
• Performance Review: Regularly review sales performance and adjust purchasing plans to meet business goals.

Requirements

• Experience: Proven experience as a Buyer within the FMCG sector.
• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop and maintain supplier relationships.
• Analytical Ability: Proficient in analyzing market trends and understanding consumer behavior.
• Organization: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
