We are looking for a Customs Compliance Manager based in the North County Dublin office, you will oversee customs compliance for the Dublin-based team, ensuring smooth operations for both Ireland and UK sites. You will lead a team of experts responsible for audits, managing relationships with Revenue and HMRC, and resolving customs queries from operational teams, customs staff, and customers. You will be the go-to person for customs knowledge, compliance, and queries.
Key Responsibilities:
Customs Expertise & Compliance:
- Serve as the in-house expert on all customs-related matters.
- Manage AEO accreditation and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, including Revenue and HMRC.
- Identify compliance gaps, investigate issues, and provide feedback to the customs team.
- Stay updated on new customs requirements and communicate them effectively across the team.
Training & Process Improvement:
- Develop and roll out training for new customs regulations as required.
- Work with the customs management team to ensure all processes comply with current customs laws and best practices.
- Develop and refine processes in response to system changes, customs updates, and evolving best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and ensure re-training is completed and signed off by customs personnel.
Operational Support:
- Oversee compliance for national and international Common Transit consignments.
- Manage essential paperwork, including Direct Representation and deferment facilities.
- Collaborate with customs authorities on clearance queries and audits.
- Ensure customs clearance procedures are consistently followed and adhered to.
- Work closely with warehouse and admin teams to maintain customs compliance.
- Support daily management and release of goods under customs control.
- Identify areas for improvement through audits and propose process enhancements.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
- Excellent understanding of supply chains and freight forwarding.
- Self-motivated and results-driven with strong organisational skills.
- Collaborative problem solver with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines and time effectively.
- Proficient in customs systems and query resolution.
