Buyer – Ashbourne – Full Time

We’re hiring a Buyer to join our client’s expanding team in Ashbourne. Our client is a well-established, Irish-owned family business that has been trading successfully for over 40 years. With more than 300 staff across stores, head office, and distribution centres, they are known for offering customers a wide range of quality products at great value.

This Buyer role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in procurement and become an integral part of the buying team. You’ll support the sourcing and selection of products, manage supplier relationships, and help ensure product availability across the business.

Hours: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility required for trade fairs, supplier visits, etc.)
Salary: €50,000-€70,000 (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Negotiate terms, prices, and delivery schedules
• Research new supplier opportunities
• Manage and track purchase orders
• Maintain accurate stock and supplier records
• Forecast demand and place timely core stock orders
• Monitor seasonal stock and arrange reorders
• Analyse sales data and customer trends to inform decisions
• Support product promotions and pricing changes
• Resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies
• Organise inter-store transfers and manage buying appointments

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a buying role
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Collaborative and self-motivated
• Full driving licence required
