Assistant Manager – Builders’ Merchant (Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin)
Join our client’s growing builders’ merchant store in Dun Laoghaire as an Assistant Manager. This is a hands-on role where exceptional customer service and strong leadership skills are key. It’s an excellent opportunity to develop within a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers in-store and handle phone, email, and web orders efficiently.
- Manage quotation requests and customer inquiries.
- Build strong customer relationships and identify sales opportunities.
- Maintain store presentation and coordinate with suppliers.
- Support purchasing, stock control, and stock taking.
- Assist with day-to-day store management and operations.
- Work closely with Warehouse and Yard staff to fulfil orders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and health & safety procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in trade sales, DIY, or building materials is a plus.
- Strong product knowledge in construction and hardware materials.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and POS/ERP systems.

Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday (7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Occasional Saturday shifts
