Senior Engineer – Civils & Construction

Flexistaff is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Engineer to join their team on major construction and civil engineering projects in South Dublin.

This is a senior site-based position suited to an Engineer with strong experience in setting out, quality control, temporary works and the delivery of large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering function on site
• Manage setting out and dimensional control
• Coordinate and support Site and Graduate Engineers
• Complete and oversee as-built surveys
• Ensure topographical surveys are completed prior to excavation works
• Manage QA procedures, records and engineering documentation
• Prepare and review Inspection & Test Plans
• Manage RFIs and identify missing technical information
• Monitor construction outputs and highlight programme or resource issues
• Liaise with site teams, contractors and other engineers
• Act as point of contact for technical and Temporary Works audits
• Ensure actions arising from audits are closed out
• Assess Temporary Works systems and their suitability
• Maintain high Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
• Mentor and support less experienced engineers on site
• Carry out Health & Safety inspections as required

Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with a developer or Civil Engineering Contractor
• Strong Civil Engineering and construction experience
• Large-scale residential or commercial project experience desirable
• Advanced setting out and dimensional control experience
• Strong understanding of underground services and associated risks
• Experience with Quality Management procedures
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Competent using digital information systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of Temporary Works
• Excellent technical and problem-solving ability
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Organised with excellent time management and planning skills
• Proven track record of maintaining high HSSQ standards
