Assistant Quality Manager

Location: Dunmanway, Co. Cork Salary Negotiable.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an Assistant Quality Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established food production company based in Dunmanway, Co. Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support the Quality Manager in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while assisting in the leadership of the quality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Quality Manager during periods of absence, taking responsibility for the quality team and site quality operations.
  • Support and lead internal, customer, third-party, and regulatory audits, ensuring the site remains audit-ready at all times.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, Quality Manual, and HACCP programme.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, FSAI guidelines, and relevant industry standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding quality issues, specifications, documentation, and complaint resolution.
  • Monitor food safety, legality, integrity, and quality across all production operations.
  • Coordinate quality checks, production record reviews, and equipment calibration programmes.
  • Support staff training initiatives and the implementation of quality policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on quality performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, food safety legislation, and best practice standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a senior quality role.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • Experience within a food production or food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and audit requirements.
  • Experience leading or participating in site audits.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
