Location: Castlebellingham, Co. Louth (Near Dundalk)
Salary: €16.00 per hour
Hours: 44.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 5:30pm
Transport: Own vehicle essential

About the Role

Our client, a busy and well-established DIY and Hardware Store in Castlebellingham, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join their team. This is a varied, hands-on position involving yard operations, stock handling, customer service, and storeperson duties. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the yard is well organised, stock is managed efficiently, and customers receive excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Receiving, checking and organising incoming stock.
• Assisting with stock control and stock replenishment.
• Picking and preparing customer orders.
• Assisting customers with loading products and materials.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised yard environment.
• Carrying out storeperson duties, including stock storage and inventory organisation.
• Assisting with stock takes and inventory checks.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Supporting colleagues across the store and yard as required.
• General yard and warehouse duties.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, builders merchants, hardware, DIY or similar environment is desirable.
• Good level of physical fitness and ability to carry out manual handling duties.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Forklift licence would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Own transport is essential due to location and working hours.
