Pastry Chef –Trim Meath
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded hospitality venue, for an experienced Pastry Chef to join their culinary team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate pastry professional who takes pride in creating high-quality desserts and baked goods while contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
The successful candidate will work as part of a professional kitchen team committed to delivering outstanding food quality, excellent service standards and a memorable dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a wide range of pastries, cakes, breads, desserts and baked goods to a consistently high standard.
- Accurately measure, mix, shape and bake products while maintaining attention to detail and presentation.
- Work closely with the wider culinary team to develop and refresh dessert menus that complement the overall dining offering.
- Maintain strict quality standards across all pastry products, ensuring freshness, consistency and excellent presentation.
- Create visually appealing desserts that showcase creativity and strong pastry techniques.
- Manage the pastry section of the kitchen, including stock control, ordering ingredients and ensuring equipment is maintained.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods and special events while maintaining high quality standards.
- Stay up to date with modern pastry techniques, trends and flavour combinations to continually enhance the offering.
Requirements
- Previous practical experience working as a Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry role.
- Strong technical skills in baking, pastry decoration, chocolate work, sugar work, dough preparation and fillings.
- Creativity and attention to detail with a passion for developing new flavours and desserts.
- Strong understanding of baking ingredients including flours, sugars, fats and leavening agents.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks during busy periods.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work any 5 days over a 7-day period, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Must have full permission to work in Ireland.
