Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Salary: €60,000
Location: Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland (multi-site)
Overview:
We are recruiting a skilled Health & Safety Manager for a manufacturing company seeking an experienced professional to lead their health and safety initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact by driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance across all operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in H&S management, ideally with experience in the food or FMCG industry, and be ready to contribute to a safer, more efficient workplace.
Role Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety Leadership: Drive the site Health & Safety program to ensure legal compliance and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Risk Assessment and Compliance: Keep risk assessments and safety systems up to date and ensure they meet all site requirements.
- Training and Development: Assess and deliver health and safety training programs, partnering with the Site Training Coordinator.
- Incident Management: Monitor, report, and investigate incidents, including RIDDOR incidents, and manage near miss/non-conformance systems.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare board-level H&S reports, lead monthly management review meetings, and communicate effectively with external authorities.
- Contractor and Maintenance Oversight: Monitor on-site contractors and assist maintenance teams to ensure that all statutory inspections are completed and that all machinery complies with safety standards.
- Policy & System Maintenance: Maintain and review Health & Safety policies, PPE, safety equipment, and emergency procedures.
- Drive Safety Culture: Support and influence behavioral changes to foster a “safety-first” culture within the organization.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum of 3 years‘ experience in H&S Management within a manufacturing environment
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification
- Strong knowledge of NI and ROI Health & Safety legislation
- Experience in multi-site organizations
- Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to thrive under pressure with a solutions-oriented mindset
Desirable:
- Experience within the FMCG sector
- Environmental Management experience
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing techniques
