FMCG Buyer

Location: Ashbourne, Co. Meath, Ireland

Salary: €45-50k

Flexistaff Recruitment is looking for an experienced FMCG Buyer for our client, a leading Irish retailer specialising in DIY and homeware. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in buying within the FMCG sector and a keen eye for market trends and consumer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure a competitive and profitable range of products.

· Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best prices, quality, and delivery times.

· Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to make informed buying decisions.

· Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability without overstocking.

· Collaborate with the merchandising team to plan and execute promotional activities.

· Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure consistent supply and quality.

· Review and report on sales performance, adjusting purchasing plans as needed.

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Buyer in the FMCG sector is essential.

· Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

· Excellent analytical skills with a deep understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour.

· Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
