Job description

Join a dynamic customs team in their Dublin depot! Their team, which has successfully navigated the complexities of Brexit and beyond, is expanding to offer innovative services to their growing customer base. This role is perfect for an ambitious professional seeking a new challenge within a supportive and collaborative environment.

*Must have own means of transport to get to location*

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 6.00pm

Responsibilities:

  • Complete customs declarations for multimodal transport (road, air, and ocean freight).
  • Process customs information data for goods travelling between the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the rest of the world.
  • Support internal freight departments to meet the customs clearance needs of their customers.
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers using our brokerage service.
  • Gather information from customers to ensure accurate processing of customs declarations.
  • Interact with suppliers, freight forwarders, and distributors to provide necessary documentation and information.
  • Escalate issues to relevant stakeholders when data is missing or incorrect.
  • Generate customs paperwork and reports.
  • Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Collaborate with other customs teams to support daily operations.
  • Perform general computer and office duties.
  • Handle any additional ad-hoc duties as requested.

Skills Requirements:

  • Methodical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator, proficient in using phone and email.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive and responsible, taking personal ownership of your role.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of customs clearance experience.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of customs procedures in Ireland; UK knowledge is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with customer systems such as TARIC, AIS, AEP, NCTS, CDS, CHIEF, GVMS, and PBN.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
