Transport Planner

We are seeking a Transport Planner to join our client’s team in North County Dublin. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to contribute to efficient logistics operations. As a Transport Planner, you will work on rotating shifts (5am to 2pm and 12pm to 9pm) Monday to Friday, along with every third Saturday from 5am until tasks are completed. Shifts may be adjusted to cover holidays or absences, and you will be scheduled to work alternate public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• As a Transport Planner, coordinate domestic vehicle transport for Road Freight & Logistics customers.
• Monitor vehicle utilisation, trunking performance, and load planning to optimise resources.
• Manage transport administration, ensuring timely updates to collection and delivery statuses.
• Address transport-related queries by liaising with other depots and departments.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and drivers to maintain high-quality service standards.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
• Enter data accurately into systems and process job data from customers via mail, spreadsheet, or EDI.
• Apply customer rates and supplier charges as required.
• Ensure smooth communication between warehouse and yard staff regarding inbound trailer arrivals and offloading, complying with customs procedures.
• Manage customer and driver inquiries professionally, providing relevant support.
• Conduct driver debriefs, ensuring proper use of driver apps and handheld units.
• Ensure the transport routing and GPS system operates efficiently for the Dublin-based distribution fleet.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.

Required Skills:

• Experience in a similar role is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
