Transport Manager

We are looking for a Transport Manager to lead and optimise transport operations for key customer accounts. This role focuses on delivering excellent service, enhancing efficiency, and driving business growth.

Role Overview

Transport Operations

• Manage collection and distribution channels with subcontractors.
• Resolve operational issues with partners and the office.
• Oversee daily trailer requirements and ensure smooth linehaul operations.
• Handle POD discrepancies and prepare KPI reports.
• Work with the General Manager to improve efficiency and working practices.
• Represent the depot in meetings and conference calls.
• Drive profitability by optimising delivery and collection services.

Staff Management

• Ensure team adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Motivate and develop staff through clear objectives and training opportunities.
• Conduct appraisals and create development plans to encourage high performance.

Key Skills

• Experience as a Transport Manager or in a similar logistics role.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
• Knowledge of transport planning and KPI reporting.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Commercial acumen and customer relationship management.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety policies.
